Young solicitors in the North Hampshire area will soon have the opportunity to network with their peers. On the 10th January 2008, the groups formerly known as the Trainee Solicitor Group and the Young Solicitor Group merged to create the Junior Lawyers Division (JLD). Membership is now available to trainee solicitors as well as solicitors, legal executives, paralegals and licensed conveyancers with less than five years’ legal experience or qualification.

Before this date the most local Hampshire group was based in Southampton so trainee solicitors from Basingstoke Firms Clarke & Son LLP, Lamb Brooks and Philips decided to form the North Hampshire JLD.

Its launch will be at the Light Lounge in Basingstoke on 19th February between 6.30pm-9pm.

The speaker is yet to be announced but there will be free drinks, a raffle and a quiz. Anyone who qualifies for membership and is interested in attending should email northhampshirejld@yahoo.co.uk with their name and their firm’s name to confirm attendance. Membership details will be available on the night.

The North Hampshire JLD hopes to provide an environment that will benefit its members on social and business fronts. It will be organising regular social events, such as wine tasting and bowling which form a fun way of networking with other like minded legal professionals.

The North Hampshire JLD also hopes to contribute to community events with members attending school career visits.
